Description:
2½ minute by
2½ minute hybrid geoid model
using land based gravity measurements,
satellite altimetry, a global DEM, the
Earth Gravity Model 2008 (EGM2008) and
GPS/levelling. The model is only valid
for South Africa between 22°S and
35°S latitude and 16°E and
33°E longitude and is estimated to
have an accuracy of better than 10cm.
The geoid model is being
released at this time based on the
ITRF2005 (epoch 2010.02) reference
frame on which TrigNet station
co-ordinates are now based.
The format of the geoid
file is identical to that of the
EGM2008 (phi, lambda, H).
