Description:
This model is a gravimetric quasi-geoid for the Arctic region limited by 65° N by latitude. It is based on gravity data
collected by NGA in the framework of the Arctic Gravity Project (AGP). A remove-restore procedure was applied by using
EGM2008 up to degree/order 360 as reference global model. The residual quasi-geoid heights are computed from the residual
gravity anomalies by using the adjusted spherical harmonic analysis (ASHA) for local gravity field modelling. The orthogonality
property in longitude for the chosen base system was taken into account to significantly decrease the computational time of
the residual coefficients. The final quasi-geoid model is evaluated on a grid with 5'x5' resolution and it is referred to
the GRS80 ellipsoid. The model has been validated by comparison with 49 GNSS/levelling points, obtaining that the standard
deviation of the differences is equal to 22 cm.
