Description:
The KNGeoid14 model is a hybrid geoid released by the National Geographic Information Institute (NGII) in 2014. It covers the area from 33°N to 39°N in latitude and from 125°E to 131°E in longitude with a 1’ spatial resolution. The following gravity data are used: 9,455 terrestrial observations; 27,343 airborne observations; 1’ ocean gridded data (combined version of shipborne and DTU10). The reference global gravity model is EGM2008. Also, NGII DEM is used for the Korean region, and SRTM is used for areas outside Korea. The remove-compute-restore procedure is implemented to obtain the gravimetric geoid. The KNGeoid14 hybrid model is then determined by fitting the gravimetric geoid with the newly obtained 1,034 GNSS/leveling data. The degree of fit between KNGeoid14 and the GNSS/leveling data is approximately at the level of 3.3 cm.
