Description:
The KNGeoid24 hybrid geoid model, released by the National Geographic Information Institute (NGII) in 2024, is an updated version of the KNGeoid18 model. It has a 1’×1’ spatial resolution in both latitude and longitude, officially covering the area from 33°N to 39°N in latitude and from 124°E to 132°E in longitude with a 1’×1’ spatial resolution. According to the re-adjustment and new announcement of heights on national control points in 2023, KNGeoid18 exhibited a bias of approximately 1 cm compared to the currently available GNSS/Leveling data. In addition, more than 1,000 points of GNSS/leveling data were collected on 3D control points since 2018. Therefore, the new hybrid geoid, KNGeoid24, was developed by fitting the gravimetric geoid, KRGG18, to a total of 3,350 points of the latest GNSS/leveling data. The degree of fit between KNGeoid24 and these GNSS/leveling data was evaluated at 2.3 cm. Compared to the remaining 2,048 points of GNSS/leveling data, KNGeoid24 demonstrates a precision of 2.43 cm.
