Description:
The FIN2005N00 tailored quasi-geoid model extends from 59° N to 70.7° N in latitude and 17.5° E to 33° E in longitude with a grid resolution of 1.2' in latitude and 2.4' in longitude. The model was computed by a least-squares collocation fit of the Nordic quasi-geoid NKG2004 to 50 GPS/levelling points in Finland. It can be used to transform ellipsoidal heights in the EUREF-FIN national ETRS89 realization to normal heights in the Finnish N2000 height system. Evaluating the model with the ground truth in Finland (first order GPS/levelling dataset), an accuracy of 2 cm was achieved nationwide. The largest differences between the FIN2005N00 model and GPS/levelling are 6 cm.
The model is officially distributed by the National Land Survey of Finland (NLS), and more information about it can be found on the NLS website (available only in Finnish).
