Description:
The FIN2023N2000 quasi-geoid model extends from 58.8° N to 70.2° N in latitude and 19° E to 32° E in longitude with a grid resolution of 0.6' in latitude and 1.2' in longitude. The model was computed by fitting the gravimetric model FIN_EIGEN-6C4_GEO (calculated from global EIGEN-6C4 model and Finnish gravity data) to GPS/levelling points in Finland. It can be used to transform ellipsoidal heights in the EUREF-FIN national ETRS89 realization to normal heights in the Finnish N2000 height system. Evaluating the model with the ground truth in Finland (first order GPS/levelling dataset), an accuracy of 1.4 cm was achieved nationwide. The largest quasigeoid height differences between the FIN2023N2000-model and GPS-levelling are 3-4 cm.
The model is officially distributed by the National Land Survey of Finland (NLS), and more information about it can be found on the NLS website (available in Finnish, Swedish and English).
