Description:
This is a gravimetric geoid model for the Auvergne area using the one-step integration method, which is based on the combination of the Stokes and Poisson kernel functions. Overall, 244,000 terrestrial gravity data covering 42° ≤ latitude ≤ 50° and -2° ≤ longitude ≤ 8° were cleaned and then averaged to 1*1 arc-min cells to compute the geoid heights in the centre area of 44.5° ≤ latitude ≤ 47.5° and 1.5° ≤ longitude ≤ 4.5°. All computations were done in the Helmert space and the GOCO05s model was used (up to maximum d/o of 280) to remove the low-frequency part of the gravity signals. The geoid heights estimated from our methodology were compared against the geoid heights derived from the 75 GNSS/Levelling points in the centre area of Auvergne. The results show an agreement of 3.3 cm, which is comparable to every other model computed in this area, also considering the uncertainty of the GNSS/Levelling derived heights.
