Description:
The Latvian quasigeoid LV98 is a gravimetric solution referred to the GRS80 ellipsoid and given in the ETRF89 geodetic reference system. This grid model, with a resolution of 1.5' x 3.0', was computed from measured and digitalized terrestrial gravity data, as well as gravity data in the Baltic Sea derived from ERS-l altimetric mission. The FFT Stokes' formula was used for the quasigeoid computation, in the framework of a remove-restore procedure based on the EGM96 global model up to degree and order 360. A 4-parameter empirical datum fit to GPS/levelling data was finally performed, obtaining an estimated accuracy of about 6-8 cm.
