Description:
This is a gravimetric geoid for the Spanish region of Northern Andalusia. In particular it covers the area with
limits 37.3° < lat. < 38.5°, -4.3° < lon. < -2.3°, and with a grid resolution of 3'x 3'. It is referred to
the GRS80 ellipsoid and it is based on a subset of 1874 free-air anomalies extracted from the database of the Instituto
Geografico Nacional (Spain). The gravimetric geoid was computed by the fast collocation technique in the framework of a
remove-restore procedure. The used global geopotential model was OSU91A up to degree and order 360. The digital terrain model
with a grid spacing of 100 m x 100 m was provided by the Servicio Geografico del Ejercito (Spain). The resulting gravimetric
model was assessed by comparing it with GPS/levelling data at benchmarks belonging to the Spanish first-order levelling network.
After removing a plane from the discrepancies, their standard deviation amounts to 5 cm.
